SUNSOAK design is an engineering & architecture practice dedicated to solar.

Drastically upscaling the use of renewable is a priority to meet 2050 goals. Nevertheless, large scale PV or BIPV objects have a massive impact on both built & natural landscapes. That impact must be part of a plan. Part of a design. Great solar collectors must be drawn with a sense of context, proportion, elegance. It has to be engineered to preserve both optimal efficiency and landscapes.

We believe in decentralized energy, located where the user is, focused on the demand curve. Our answer materializes by large scale solar machines in urban contexts, linked to building codes and permitting. We work on infrastructure nodes that must be equipped prior to natural environments, and in no case compete with preserved nature, species development or agriculture.

We design solar structures, solar building skins, EV charging stations. We join contest teams, provide technology watch, R&D, cost surveys to developers, architects, engineers, contractors and municipalities as clients in urban, peri-urban, protected and heritage areas.

We are solar architects & designers.

Bota Solar is a unique project with innovation and sustainability as a starting point. This remarkable canopy generates solar energy and filters the sun rays.

Voice of Solar Architecture

Webinar

Joost Moolhuijzen, Lorenzo Piazza and Nicolas Grawitz, in dialogue with Pierluigi Bonomo (SUPSI) and Jean-Didier Steenackers (Sunsoak), participated in the first episode of “Voice of Solar Architecture” presenting the CERN Science Gateway Building in Geneva.

The Voice of Solar Architecture project is curated by the BIPV Team of SUPSI within the European Project SEAMLESS-PV and the platform solarchitecture.ch. In collaboration with Isplora, it explores exemplary voices and cases of architecture where photovoltaics becomes both a material and a design metaphor.

Sunsoak Design and Architecture is 10 years old

News
10 years of solar projects, but above all, 10 years of solar personalities we’ve been lucky enough to design with. We can’t wait for the next 10 years to come!
